For me, originality is a valuable asset.

About Verus Classics - Dr. Stefan Meinsen

Since youth, I have been fascinated by classic cars.

I love their aesthetics, their design, the materials used, the sound, ...

... and above all their charm, which warms my heart and that of many others. They also inspire me because many things are easier to understand and repair, more technically manageable and at the same time more challenging and tangible to drive.

In my enthusiasm for old vehicles, I have gone through various phases. There were times when the effort required to keep the classic car running was too much for me – I was too impatient and decided against it despite my fascination.

Later, I completely disrespectfully drilled holes in door panels and hat racks so that I could listen to music louder than originally intended while driving—I wasn't mature enough yet to appreciate classics in their originality.

Then came the phase of wanting to make it “better than new.” I was determined to use feasible improvements to eliminate the mistakes and technical impossibilities of the past and gain more performance or comfort—I was arrogant and wanted to show that I could do better than the designers back then.

Preserving the “classic” character

All these phases were essentially driven by a desire for old vehicles, but at the same time there was a lack of acceptance of their nature.

Today, I feel mature enough to accept classics as they are, and I believe that minor improvements are in the interest of better usability and greater reliability. I also share this enthusiasm for other collectable cars, such as modern classics and more recent models.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have – I look forward to getting to know you!
