The SLC series was introduced in 1972 alongside the R107 SL as a luxury coupe and was significantly more expensive than the S-Class. Nearly 63,000 units were built by 1981. The 500 SLC offered for sale here is the last evolutionary stage with a 5-liter V8 engine and 4-speed automatic transmission. Only 1,154 of this model were built in total – a very small series by Mercedes standards. The doors and hoods are made of aluminum.

Our SLC is a German vehicle delivered in Düsseldorf. Since 2012, a verifiable €60,000 has been invested in the vehicle (receipts available). This was spent in particular on refurbishing the front seats, bodywork, a complete engine overhaul (at 153,000 km), cavity sealing, exhaust, brakes, heating, etc.

Everything on the car works perfectly, and it drives like a year-old car.

In addition, the car has been converted to 15-inch baroque rims, which are in new condition. They were refurbished and repowdered by the manufacturer Fuchs. The conversion was recently registered.

The work commissioned by the current owner has been extensively documented, but earlier bodywork is also well documented.

The interior is undamaged, the dashboard is crack-free, and the fine wood trim is undamaged. This SLC also has a wooden gear knob and a wood and leather steering wheel. The original Becker radio works, as does the original motor antenna.

The paintwork in the original color “anthracite metallic” is of very good quality.

The engine and transmission are matching numbers.

The ABS has been checked and works perfectly.

The SLC has been so well looked after that the next owner can enjoy the car without any worries.
